Capucine Blanc 2016

75cl Château Ollieux Romanis Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache Blanc France > Languedoc Crisp, fresh and zesty
The Corbières Capucine Blanc is a blend of 95% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Grenache Blanc. Exhibits notes of fig and grapefruit, with a citrus and herbal palate in a medium-bodied, crisp, lively style.

Ollieux Romanis is a magnificent property established in 1860. In 1978, current owners, Jacqueline and Francois Bories took over the estate with the intention of producing Corbières wines which best express the Boutenac terroir. 2001 saw the arrival of their son Pierre to the business, who injected new energy into the property, including the introduction of four new cuvees. Pierres’ efforts are gaining recognition, he recently featured in a Decanter article highlighting Corbières rising stars. The estate has almost 70 hectares of vines, including 21 hectares of magnificent Carignan which provide the backbone of their red wines, the youngest of these vines being around 50 years-old and the oldest 109 years old. The wines are a sincere expression of the dry, dusty, garrigue-scented terroir of the region, with appetising ripe fruit and a warm, savoury edge.
